Have one of these where at switch on front Led is green, green Led on power supply flashes 6 times, otherwise set seems dead with few voltages present.

Any thoughts ? Chris.

Hi Chris
Remembered the 6 flashes fault was on a Philips set, ic8022 causing a missing v-set voltage. On this set only seem to remember was one of the two fets in the top right hand corner going short, but doesn’t sound like the same fault, it’s usually the y sus PCB causing probs, try disconnecting in case dragging psu down.
Not much help I know, good luck
Daz

Hi, and thanks Daz and Willyam1,

Found R96 (6r8 / 5W) O/C, nearby 1mfd 630v checks OK - going for a shematic.

Thanks again - Chris.

Thanks Willyam1,

Will change cap as suggested. As it wasn't bulgy thought a shematic the biz as I couldn't see any direct connection with that O/C resistor connected to some sort of FET.

Plasma is so complex, hope it soon turns into something more simple.

Some hopes - Chris.

Thanks, Willyam1,

Have noted your experience,

Will try replacing that O/C resistor, switch on, and try check where smoke comes from.
