Samsung LE40R83B
« on: June 24, 2010,09:39:42 »
Hi

Ive one of these in for repair. The set comes on with perfect picture and sound but cuts off after about 30 secs then goes through the same cycle again. 4 1000uf caps were changed as they were bulging co my next thought is a corrupted eeprom. Not sure if it is same eeprom as in other Samsungs cos thats all I have in stock.

Hi,

Not sure if they are all the same, it's a 24C256BN in this model, they are only about £4 from CHS so I would get a few in stock because they are quite common.

Best thing is put the part number of the one you have got in stock into the chs system and see if it comes up with the same order code for the model of your set.

They would appear to be the same. I'll stick it in tomorrow and report results.

Went into service mode after fitting eeprom and did a reset. This cured the problem. This set doesnt have Freeview..the guy got it off the net.
