This Sammy arrived for repair the fault after its been on a few minutes the picture becomes lighter and lighter ending with a very washed out raster with some solarisation ,also the backlight dims and starts to strobe,have changed the usual caps made no differnce all psu voltage seem ok,.Any ideas would be appreciated other than a big hammer Thanks

hi
might be the screen faulty when in fault mode try connecting tv
to an other thro scart out to scart in if ok suspect screen

Hi,

Sort of curious, as a strobing baclight seems to point to P/S.

Note you didn't say what the usual P/S caps are and have no idea of P/S used. Sure you might help us folks out as it might be a future earner.
