I did think they looked like ferrite beads but I wasn’t sure. I could just stick them back in as long as they arnt open cct.
I have another question now if that’s ok :17:. when I received my ohm supplies kit it said to check the transformer by the fsd210 primary side for a short and if there is repair it? I have never heard of repairing transformers before especially ones that small!  So checked it and there is one, typical.
I emailed ohm supplies to see if they could supply me a new one and they said no you have to repair it yourself.
What do you think I should do??
I have worked in the electronics industry for a while but I am not that experienced in TVs to be honest, still electronics is electronics and I am sure I will get there if i persevere.

once again all your advice is greatly appropriated.

Hi eddolls,

Thought is, that with chip demise, S/by tranny itself might  have problems (check profilo) if you enjoy pain, but that's Profilo, and they're not a nice telly.

Never had such suggestions with this PS, and never had a S/by prob after chip and bits  replaced, so what's trouble after your possible dry joint 24v area - Curious - Chris.

I think I am just being over careful and scared of plugging it all back together only to get big bang. I am going to plug it back together and firstly hide for cover and then check for voltages. maybe stiff drink first. if it doesn't work I suppose I can always buy a new board  :93:

Hi guys,

Id thought I would update every one on my progress with repairing my Bauer xt32.
last night I finished installing the 06 kit from ohm supplies including the smoothing cap. I then repaired a few blown tracks with wire, and resolderd dry joints on the ferrite beaded link and a couple of inductors on the rectifier stage.
This morning I rechecked my work and refitted it to the TV, with great anticipation I powered it on (half expecting my careful work to go up in smoke). It didn't! The set powered on , I had sound and all the inputs worked!

Thanks everyone!

Regards

Chris

Hi Edd,

Congrats, glad it wasn't a Profilo - Chris.
