« on: November 11, 2010,06:03:59 »
Hi,when this tv is switched in to standby using the handset the led goes red,the sound and picture go off but the plasma screen remains illuminated due to the vs and va supplies ect still running. If i take the tv out of standby and turn off using the power button the tv it turns off as it should ie relays drop out leaving just the standby supply running. I have been informed that there may be modification for this problem is anyone able to help.

  Thanks Phil.

Hi there. You're experiencing this problem, because Vs ON and Va ON voltages are not going low when the set goes back off to standby. Those voltages are usually driven by Micon on the mainboard but it some models also use Logic CTRL to trigger them. Possibly the problem can be sorted by modifying some options in service menue, if not the problem could be indicative of failing EEPROM on one of those boards, first try resetting TV back to factory mode. good luck with the repair! :051bye:
