Samsung LE32B530P7WXXU Analogue only available
« on: December 06, 2010,06:09:52 »
This is one of my own sets and has been working nicely for quite a while, I primarily use it as a PC display through the VGA connector.

A few weeks ago I noticed it changing display modes back to 'Dynamic', thinking it was probably the PSU going dirty on me I made sure I had the caps to sort it and had some time free this weekend to sort it.

Last night I turn the set on and it came up with Analogue TV channel 1, weird as I hardly every use any other input apart from the VGA - hit the source button to change it and it only lists 'TV' - after some messing about trying to get it to redetect sources and it coming up empty handed I figured the EEPROM is probably corrupt so tried INFO > MENU > MUTE > POWER to no avail, I've tried getting into the service menu about 40-50 times, it simply won't go - I've searched for alternate methods to get into the service mode with no joy.

I pulled the back off this morning, thinking I can bridge the EEPROM and force a reset and get the service mode, trouble being I cannot identify which is the correct EEPROM

Also, I have updated the firmware to the latest version to no avail, another oddity is that if I press EXIT for 12 seconds and reset the TV I can only select Australia, New Zealand or Singapore as the country.

Anyone had this before?

Does anyone know the location of the EEPROM for this set, the mainboard is BN94-02710A - I'm suprised no one has had this set in yet.

I've just tried getting into the service mode about 25 times using the following method:

With the TV on and showing an image, pressing POWER then INFO then MENU then MUTE then POWER - it will not enter service mode.

I've been into the service mode on other Samsung LCD TV sets without a problem, this one simply won't do it.

Is it a possibility that part of the logic is faulty? I'm pulling my hair out on this one!!

EDIT: I've attached a pic of the mainboard, can anyone identify the EEPROM from the image?

Cheers Dave, I'll give the firmware another shot.

I've logged a call with Samsung, on a wing and a prayer as they replaced the screen in late August as the build date (according to the service menu I've previously got into) was late August 2009 - hopefully they'll come up trumps, failing that it's a new main board.

Thanks

Andy
