philips 28PW6305/05 painter chip

i have a 28PW6305/05 which switches on and off and the remote is not working with it. found that it is most likly the painter chip, should it be replaced or i have heard there is a way to repair without opening up the set what is the best way forward.

must be replaced and set will have to be set up after.

hi, thanks for that, i have read that if you insert a capacitor about 10 Nf between the pin 8 and 18 (low speed video commutation and ground) that this will solve the problem is that true?
