Samsung LE40A556P red blinking standby light

hi my telly turned its self of and started doing this 2 days ago, so i disconnected it from mains left it a hour tried again same thing as soon as i connect the power it just starts flashing. So i phoned Samsung who informed me its not covered ( 2 years old and not one that is effect by cap problem) so called around got quoted over 125 to fix it and i cant afford that as am not out of work. so started searching the net and found you guys.

right here goes im gonna check the caps in a bit and replace if any are buggered, i just made this post because i would like to know if anyone has the service Manual in case its the eprom too as i will need to know how to reset the eprom and enter the service menu in telly(if it powers on lol) and what values are needed

please help guys i dont think i will survive with out telly i have three kids under ten and if i cant put nick junior on soon will will all go mad

Update i have found the service manual and have located the to blown caps its the normal two running at 10 v so will uprate them to next size if i give a link to the manual can someone help me with the eprom if that has failed too please

yeah im gonna try that first mate but just my luck every component seller in a 15mile radius is out of stock and only has the 85c ones not the 105 lol, so will have to wait for them to turn up from mail order grrrrrrr. out of interent do the eproms need to be programmed or can the be installed blank

if needed the chip sets itself never changed chip on
that model always the caps

cheers for that info mate, will let you know when i get the caps  as they were out of stock everywhere near me they only had the 85c ones so ordered some from the net instead

UPDATE

The telly is now fixed it was just the caps, only got round to fixing it last night lol

scared me at first as as soon as i plug mains in the standby light started flashing again and i thought oh know but it was fine it was just turning on lol

Glad to hear you got the  problem fixed. I have the same tv and the same problem i think. I have just purchased the service manual of ebay - could not find it anywhere. Where did you get it ?

If you dont mind I would like to contact you "to keep me right" when trying to fix this problem.

Help from anyone else would of course be most welcome. I have just joined this forum and have some knowledge of electronics and tv's - I have found it very difficcult to find service manuals, particularly free of charge.
