Sharp LC37X20E pic fault

This TV has lines on the picture, looks like watermarks, 7 lines in total (pic attached)

It looks like lamp tube damage.
Here is a few point to check.
See if the serial number is in the following range

xxx411112 ~ xxx416646
xxx511112 ~ xxx517834
xxx611112 ~ xxx632500
xxx811112 ~ xxx811112
709011112 ~ 711016906

if yes then
check if any of the lamps have any crack
or any discoloration in yellow.
If so, replace the defect lamp.

check if any of the lamp sockets have any damaged marks.
If so, replace the defect lamp socket.

Hi,

Note from piccy that problem seems LHS of screen only - Backlight tubes usually extend right across the screen but LVDS on large screen sets often have a drive chip for either side.

Just a thought as I have one with a similar (but different) prob - Chris

chris if you split the screen you can see were the tubes do
show signs of discolouring from the ends to middle

Well could be, but haven't yet met a CCFL tube that's OK to half way point then becomes duff the rest of the way.

Roll on cool diodes, where individual ones will pop out and give curious thumb-prints. Can't wait - Chris.
