Philips 47pfl9603d/10 Firmware Corrupt, No remote usage, no side panel

Hi,

Admitedly i am not a repiar man by trade but i do have a computing degree for what its worth.  I have had nothing but trouble with a 47" hd lcd, the first one went into flames and was collected by Philips themselves after 5 months of sheer lunacy with no tv, philips technical manager finally replace it with a second hand TV 9 series TV.

I noticed the firmware was dating back to 2008 so upgraded the firmware last night, after the update i have lost the use of the side panel buttons and the remote control is unresponsive.  I do have a picture etc but its not via HDMI as i cant switch over from the default scart.

So could anybody help me resolve this issue by maybe getting this set back to factory default, or via some other software.

i think if you un-plug tv from mains, on tv remote press and
hold ok plug into mains and wait till tv comes on should go
to re install

I read the release notes since my firmware and it commented about increased colour usage etc hence the firmware upgrade.  Yes TV was perfectly fine beforehand, although the HD pciture was pixalated when very close to the screen.

Thank you very much i followed your advice and i can now get to a upgrade menu pressing the ok button after POST.

I installed another firmware but problem still exists, i guess i have to go right back to an earlier version?

Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated, and if i can send u beer/coffee tokens via this forum you would be plastered/hyper?

Im going to hit the sack now and dwell on it for a few hours, thanks again for your help thus far.
