LG42PC1D power problem
« on: April 01, 2011,10:14:14 »
Hi folks,

Have one of these where on connecting mains nothing happens. Mains fuse is OK and I note that S/by +ve supply seems to be directly fed from mains bridge via some series thermisters across a relay and a couple of series diodes.

Is there any common cause of probs  - ?  Chris.

Later - S/by HT feed resistor R510(10 Ohm S) O/C - suspect U501(STRW6251) £5.99+ from Nikko.  Power board 68719PT299A

hi chris
main problem i have had on these psus is usually the 3300uf caps (all 9 of them) and a 1000uf cap in the scondary but they usually pop and are easy to spot, perhapse they have gone high esr, might be worth a check.
good luck

Hi Daz and thanks,

Got the chip from Nikko - fast and cheap'ish compared with some suppliers - did the job - surprised, but must win some times, I guess - made that pound - eating again tonight - Chris
