did as advised and went to options in the service menu  and turned reset from on to off and tuning fault was fixed . original fault was the two 2200uf caps.tv then came on but could not get digital menu tried to reset eeprom by shorting pins 5 @ 6 out . also went into option  8 of service menu and did a reset but when i went to the digital menu it just came up with "not available"  fault now fixed . have had this fault a couple of times before  after replacing caps but customer has usually had sky or virgin so it didnt matter  thanks for your help

hallo again , the whole point of my reply dave was that the eeprom did not need to be replaced . all i did was to go into service menu go to options and go from reset on  and change to off  and problem solved.
