Vestel 17PW15.6/8/9 and 20 - power boards
« on: May 24, 2011,11:15:25 »
Hi folks,

As these boards are in many ways similar and crop up all the time on Quuq, wonder if anyones got a comprehensive fault list and/or pehaps we could compile one -

Got all these duff boards kicking about where I've done the usual PFC phut and known cap jobbies and they still don't go.

In hopes - Chris.

Hi Chris,

Same here I have 3 brand new 17PW15-9 and one 17PW20 that all buzz. One is intermitent, and will work all day then when you put it to standby then switch back on it's buzzing.

The others start to buzz after 20 or so minutes. I have replaced with know working components TR806, C819, IC802, C878 and C877. Still no joy. The voltage at cap C819 remains at 378 Volts at all times. These PSU do not buzz when connected to a variac at 231 Volts, wind it up to 270 Volts and they buzz their tits off BIG TIME!. I may leave one connected like that just to kill it.

Regards,
UGM.

Hi UGM,

Note you recently expressed thoughts on restoring blank 26 inch Che-Mei screens by pressing their flexies, or somesuch - had one today, pressed and - got confused by lack of useful outcome.

Are those black wedges on the flexies more than passive devices to prevent parasitic whatnot  ?

Curious  - Chris.
