Profilo psu (05ta071b)
« on: July 30, 2011,09:21:09 »
Hi, Has any one experienced a Profilo psu 05ta071b getting very hot. It works fine for 20mins but as it gets hot the dvb does funny things. I can run it via a scart all day with no problems (apart from the overheating) Doug

Hi Doug and Sparky,

Have a piccy - it was ever caps and yet more caps (Wilts do this nice low ESR 2200/16 that will hold any  Profilo at bay for at least 3 months)

Glad not to see any new models - Chris.

Hi Dave/Chris, the model is idlc27tv006. I think I've changed all the usual suspect caps.

Bush has been using that psu for quite a while they suffered from problems with the 2 zen diodes at the right hand side just above the centre heat sink but to be fair haven't seen one of these for a while ( thankfully
I do know theres a kit for it but that was more for blowing fuses, let it run for a while power it down and give it the old wet finger on the various heat sinks see where your building heat could be a mosfet gettin a bit leaky....   good luck !
seldom bested often bamboozled!

Hi All, Thanks for your input. I,m admitting defeat on this one so if any one has one for sale I would appreciate it. I'll even accept a faulty one providing the fault isn't overheating!!!! Cheers, Doug.
