Acoustic Solutions LCDW22DVD95F stuck in stand-by mode

<< < (4/4)

Zyphon:
Hi Jim,

Thanks for the additional information. I tested the blue caps on a capacitor meter I have and they seemed fine. However I don't think the meter tests ESR.

I have found a site that sells a replacement board, however the Vestel Acoustic Solutions board is a V2 and not the one I have:

I did find a V3 board identical to mine but the website says it is manufactured by Hitachi and for an Hitachi TV but I believe this will work for my TV:

If push comes to shove then it may be worthwhile biting the bullet and buying a whole new board.

@dougc

Is the board you salvaged a V3 board Doug?

Cheers.

I couldn't agree more for £ 20 its not worth a lot of pain it just depends on your objective...to learn...to potter or just to fix the bloody thing  :86:

Zyphon:
Well to be honest initially I just want to fix the bloody thing and get it working so I can use it. However long-term I am still interested to find out what did fail on the board and perhaps this could be a project to diagnose the problem. I do need to get a decent ESR meter though or at least a decent Capacitance multimeter to check which cap has failed.

Many thanks for your help and tips Jim they have been invaluable and I will take them on board when approaching the repair once I get the chance.  :13:

no problem what so ever. TV repair is just like most things in life...10% inspiration and 90% pespiration ! Slog thro the usual culprits and you'll fix most of them occasionally one comes along which exercises the old grey matter to stop it becoming boring !
