Philips 42pf76210 Turns straight back off

Anyone come across a philips 42pf76210 keeps turning itself straight back off when you turn it on.

Sorry to add the led is blinking 1 long flash followed by 2 quick flashes

I cant find a repair kit on Ebay and it doesnt look like Andy (Ohm Supplies) has got one too:-(

Oh and to add I have put the wrong model number it is 42pf7621d/10

I cant find anywhere on the net what the blinking standby light stands for. And to top it off I cant find a free service manual for it either.

And to put the icing on the cake this dam TV gave me a right belt when I removed the power board with no ac connected. I let it discharge for a good few hours too.

Dug a little deeper and found that the standby light flashing is 1 long flash =10 then you add the 2 short blinks which =

12 = Histogram (YUV) (IC 7770) error

Does this sound about right for a philips TV, and would this part need replacing or is it possible to short a couple of the pins to reset like in the samsungs

Scooby..Is this a Plasma or LCD????

The chassis you are working on is a BJ3.0E and the blinking lights on this model is a 12v fault not a histogram, knowing Philips it will be a software issue not a component failure, I had the same TV with the same fault and I gave up. That is probably why you cannot get a repair kit.
If you wanted the service manual I can send it to you but must warn you that the 42pf is not fully covered in it, you have to cross refer to another service manual, and it will make it as clear as mud, Philips service manuals are not exactly the easiest to understand.

Someone may prove me wrong and say "its this", but I really do think you will be chasing a fault that may be near on impossible to find, unless you want to start replacing boards to repair.

Electric shocks, treat TV's with the respect they deserve, they can kill you, I can probably vouch for most on here, we have all had a shock, once bitten twice shy, the voltages/currents in TV's go way beyond the safe working load of humans, just be very careful when playing with TV's with the back removed

Not one of Philips biggest fans, personally cant fault the components compared to most but the schematics and software issues are just arrrrgggghhhh.

My best electric shock was off an old CRT instantly turned my thumbnail black and it bloody hurt

Sorry, I've not gone, we're just very pushed for time. I've also had a few engineers point out that some of the advice given on here is better than some people pay for and can help put some engineers out of business, again, off topic. I do understand though that engineers (including me) need help,

What the hell does a histogram have to do with the set?

Up and off sounds liek the inverter, (that would make it an LCD :) ) what the number form the board.

Thanks, yes sorry my mistake it is a LCD tv
When I said powers up and then off again you can just hear the relay click 2 seconds later the blinking standby light comes on 1 long 2 short.
Histogram..I was searching around the net and this is all I could find, managed to get the service manual and like der says it does point to a 12v from the error code section....it also said something about shorting out sgm pins on the SSB to override the 8v protection circuit..but wont work when there is a standby fault..I tried it anyway and it was right it didnt make no difference.
Sorry for sounding dumb but if it is saying a 12v supply fault why would the fault be with the inverters?

The boards in the TV are as follows

Not sure how that is relevant to a tv, but its better than what I thought it was (a kind of operation, that would be a hysterectomy, Doh).

I would be amazed however, if the inverters in this set worked off 12v, 24v possibly??? With this in mind I’d ignore most of the internet as soon you’ll find a post about the capacitors causing the fault or possibly the fuse.

Best advise would be check you have 24v at switch on.
Remove both inverters and check for shorts against each other (they will be a similar design. I’d especially check the fets, controller ic (probably has 32 legs or so.) also the caps and fuse, DOH!!!!! (OK, best not to ignore the internet then
