Viewsonic N4066W - picture size problem

Hi Folks,

Have this geometry prob where DVB reception alone has an inch missing top and bottom but other inputs are OK.

Gather Service mode is - set turned on (RCU    -/-- then 991 on rcu buttons) - gives un-helpful screens of screen drive and audio options but nothing at all about picture geometry.

Anyone met one and made the repair pound  ?  - Chris.

Dont know if this helps but if you click the link below there is a driver for this model and if i remember rightly it helped with a graphics problem i had in the past.
Also has user manual on same page.

Have you tried the obvious and tried changing aspect ratio from the menu's?

I don't know this set, so I may be wrong, but many early sets with built in freeview are not really "integrated" digital sets.  They have a seperate board for DTV (i.e just a built in freeview box) and as such you can select different aspect ratio's for dtv independent of the set's other settings.

It sounds like this set (as far as DTV is concerned) thinks it's connected to a 4:3 screen and is letterboxing widescreen content.

Hi John and thanks. Download useful some looking stuff. Would prob need SM to try driver update, have several Viewsonic but not that model.

Thanks Dave - you're quite right, set is quite old and DVB section is not integrated so will search user manual for ideas.

PS -Its a bit curious as some channels (recent no Analogue rescan - Tacolneston 23rd November 2011) give normal geometry possibilties - others don't.
