Generic Inverter Question

Hi Peeps

This is just a generic Inverter question...over the past couple of weeks I have been having quite a few inverter transformer faults...the question is, Is there a secret supplier of these transformers or do you just buy the complete inverter

I have been ok upto now and used old transformers from other boards but I have a Sharp 32" Aquos...(model number ripped off) that has a transformers gone..PSU/Inverter=RUNTKA396WJN1...and Im struggling to find one
It also hurts to think if I did manage to find a PSU for £50ish then in theory I would be paying the £50 for 1 transformer.

They are available for different numbers of outputs and very cheap.

Now obviously fitting one of these makes the set non standard and you have a little work to do, to interface the enable and brightness controls for example.

But is this perhaps a way of fixing sets that are otherwise BER?

Bloody Hell ProDave..great idea but I have got more chance of shitting strawberries then getting one of them to work...I wouldnt dare plug the thing in....Im still on the learning line...not even close to the curve yet.

With the learning line/curve in mind...next question

I had an inverter with the 8 tranny's on 7 secondary's were reading 1.1k ohms and one was reading 1.8k ohms changed it to one that was 1.1k ohms and the set worked...errmmmmm silly question to those that know but Why would the resistance increase????
