ALBA LCD32880hdf
Hi all i have the above model of lcd,was great until,it broke !!!! now just switches on for a matter of minutes, says no signal and does a count down from 5:00,then retires into standby mode.
Have opened the unit but no visable sign of burned or blown parts, any ideas ?

Hi have you tried al the inputs  ie scart ,hdmi
The countdown is to switch off as it has no signal .
If you have tried all inputs with no success then it suggests the main board has a problem ,
quicker to replace than repair

Hi
when you say shuts off do you mean the screen goes blank or does it say no signal ?

Right sorry when you say blank do you mean screen off completely or can you still see light at the back from the ccfls .

Just trying to work out if your inverter has gone or your main board is shutting down the inverter as it is not getting a signal and going into standby mode .

If you press source on your remote you should see a list of inputs , make sure it is set to dtv and try it again
sorry bit long winded but the more info the more chance someone might be able to help you sort it

Hi Leedash,

Think this (Vestel) is known to have dodgy 5pf/3KV plus caps in the inverter 'tube sensing feedback circuit' - replace 5pf blue caps near the screen tube sockets - had one or two - cheap from China/off Ebay - all the best - Chris

Hi Sparky,

Perhaps the screen then cuts - Folks might need a torch to see those duff 5 puffs - keeping  up with feedback, as we all do  - Chris
