LE46M87BD, stuck in stand by
« on: February 05, 2012,15:59:21 »
Hello,  :sign0144:

We have one of these sets in, its stuck in stand by and taking ages to come on. When it does, the picture is sort of shiny and the hdmi port on the side doesnt work.
Anyone know before i take the back off what might be the problem?

Thanks

The power supply
BN44-0166C
Look for bad caps.
Think one is named CM817.

All done  :08:

Changed a couple of capacitors that looked funny to the rest and the tv is up and running, we bought another so it will be a nice telly in the bed room and didn't have to waist money on some engineer bloke trying to rip me off telling me it was a "big job"   :brinda:
thanks again,
