I've actually just been to look at this set, the reported fault was no remote functions. When I looked at the remote handset, it was easy to understand why. Apparently when they purchased the TV they took a package of TV, VCR & DVD. The VCR & DVD apparently got damaged & were sent for re-cycling along with the TV remote handset, the set works well with my Universal remote.
