Sharp LC-42XD10E switches off.
Davy:
Thanks for the info faflefevre, every little helps. I had the impression it was going protect mode. I was hoping on some 'knack' on by-passing it, the whole thing 'appears' trip just before the back light has fired, guessing as jordan the previous poster said.
I must try and get the service info.... if only they were all like the old fashioned Grundigs when they tucked a circuit diagram on the inside - going back a bit, can't have it too easy though!

faflefevre:
ok i took the plunge last week and bought a power supply via fleabay..and it didnt cure my fault so now have a spare power supply.......so maybe my fault is the inverter board also....if you buy an inverter board and it doesnt cure your fault let me no and i maybe intrested in buying it from you..
jordan:
At Sharp machines, when he is inverter in breakdown, he is possible to start up them with procedure, that on head-on plate of a machine at the same time restrain button V- and button INPUT. A machine starts like this and service menu writes out, where in section of ERROR see from where springs up mistake
scooby-doo:
I have had a couple of sharps and they turned out to be a fault with the main boards..nothing to do with inverter/psu....
like jordan mentioned pressing V- and input at the same time you need to unplug the tv from the mains then plug it back in whilst pressing the two buttons...must admit that everytime I have tried this with main board fault does nothing to boot the tv up to clear errors.
Butt you may be lucky and you can boot up.
If it does flick through about 5 pages unitl you see EER and EER B and clear them

hi
