Sounds like a screen fault chrissie although you could try a tcon . Had some success packin the screen connectors with mounting tape might be worth a try if its goosed anyway.
Incidentally you wouldnt happen to have a tcon for a lg 42 panel? the tcon numbers 6870c-4200c ?
