Hi folks,

Have above set in where scart out is fine, sound is OK but picture is composed of coloured rubbish, so suspect LVDS but not so sure.

Anyone got a cheap one ? - Thanks - Chris.

Mention - for folks who haven't met one - Did the usual Megmeet MLT070A P/S jobby - C112 and C113 - 2 x 1000/16 (with Wiltsgrove 2200/16 Low ESR, as cheapy caps don't last) and C120 -1000/35, before getting serious about other problems.

Thanks, that's a good thought.

Had meant Screen drive panel or Tcon (had thought LVDS was much the same - you'll correct me I hope) but hadn't bothered to wiggle the cable, as by the time you get the main works assembly out, then get the back off on this model to have a look at the other bits - newer sets are much easier.

Will wiggle (clean) and re-assemble, then probably curse. Chap only wants to pay for success, not my costly LVDS adventures (There's one currently on Ebay for 20 Quid) But still it might be the screen, though I doubt it.

Wouldn't mind, but he'll want the set back if unrepaired for Ebay sale with the promise of a drink - at some point.

PS - Thought later to check on 'Wikky' to discover LVDS is a screen drive system, not hardware - so 'T-con' or 'Screen Drive Panel' for me in future - Incidentally LVDS drive cable with cleaned ends didn't help.
