KDL40W2000 9 Flashes
« on: October 30, 2012,18:26:12 »
Hi,

my KDL40W2000 attempts to switch on but displays 9 red led flashes - have looked it up and its:

DTT Trouble (Communications / BS_CS_PROT)

I replaced the tuner board (1-869-657-12) but this didn't cure the issue. The following post points to the board carrying the CI port (1-869-656-21):

Since I don't use the Freeview as we are on Cable I have tried disconnecting this board and I can now switch to the hdmi port but after about a minute it switches off and on and stays on again for a minute. This repeats three times then it goes back to the 9 flashes error.

Is there a way to permanently deactivate this board? Would rather not have to replace this board also in case it isn't that either.

Thanks in advance.

Simon

Thanks, but can the TV run without this board, connected to the hdmi source only?
