TCON board replacement
« on: April 13, 2013,16:38:10 »
Hi,

I need some help to know if the TCON board - V315B1-c08 board can be replaced with this alternative generic listed here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-New-V315B1-C08-V315B1-C05-logic-board-V315B1-C07-alternative-generic/620230068.html

My LCD TV is a Sony Bravia KLV-32V-400A, with a CHI MEI LCD panel..

Thanks in advance.
Joel

You can normally swap a higher number in place of lower number number but I find if the numbers are quite close & the sockets are in the right place it works.  With this board the most common fault by far is no picture or no picture after a few moments, in that case its easier to fix the board

Hey,

Thanks for your reply! I did actually try to repair the board, the main issue was negative picture.
I have a thread on this on the badcaps forum, but Im not sure if its fine to link it in here.
If you'd want to read through, look for  'Sony Bravia KLV-32-400A - negative picture with white haze' in google which leads to my thread.

Basically, in order to fix the negative picture issue I ordered the AS15-HG chip and soldered it,
which fixed the negative picture problem, but I think something else went wrong and I have two red vertical bars on the left side of the picture (the badcaps thread has images of this.)

Since I'm unable to figure what caused the red bars, I'm thinking of buying that alternative generic board.

Thanks again for your time and help!
