Technika LCD26.920

Just picked up this Technika. PSU is marked 17IPS06/2. The set is dead, so I looked at the PSU, where the top is blown off IC906. I have found a circuit which shows IC906 to be a TNY266. However, there is an empty adjacent set of holes for IC907, which the circuit also shows as a TNY266. The pin outs for the two are different. Where do I get this IC, and how do I know which version is which?

I have just found the top of the IC which blew off, and with a magnifier, it says   Q211    VK16. Not sure if this helps determine which of the two TNY266 versions it is.

These mini-fireworks does that trick, only ever seen one that failed quietly, checking it's components would be advisable and changing the opto-coupler  to be sure.

I see I have been confusing myself about this IC. Now I have actually looked more closely, I see that whilst there are two positions on the PCB for the TNY266, it IS the same chip, not imagined alternatives. However the two positions on the board, IC906 (as found) and IC 907 (alternative) are connected quite differently. The answer seems simple, I just order a new chip and fit it where the faulty one came from. Why do I always complicate things?

Well, I got the replacement IC for this a while back, but still no operation. Got it back on the bench for another look, and found three diodes s/c. D920,21 and 22. On the schematic, they are referenced as SOD123 (the package) and RS1008. Looking for info on RS1008 seems to bring up bridge rectifiers and confusion. Would anybody care to give specs and possibly alternatives. I will dig out my Phillips packs of SM R's and semicons and look for something suitable.
The PSU is the 17IPS06-2.

You will find it more cost effective to fit a replacement board if you can get one!

Keith, I used to trace everything down to component level, and don't see why not to today. I am retired, so my time cost nothing. I just don't have much time to spare, what with the work provided by SWMBO, and all that I store up myself. Still working on my Cagiva Alazzurra 650, and that takes priority.

However, back to this Technika.

Looked at it again today whilst my pal visited (another retired TV man) and found more faulty components.
R444,5,6,7,8 and 9 all O/C. Replaced those and still dead. I decided to remove the associated transformer (TR900) and found the primary winding also O/C. I suppose if I had studied the circuit more, I would have spotted it sooner.
So, does anybody have one? It is marked 30062467,     SMP-C2264. Maybe a spare faulty board to save time removing it. As long as the winding 5-6 is intact (no pin 4).
One problem with this is that various components on the circuit simply don't exist on the board.

Recap: 26" Technika (Model LCD26-920) with PSU 17IPS06/2.
The 3.3V standby transformer primary is O/C following the failure of various components (see above).
It  is marked 30062467, and  SMP-C2264.

There must be a few of these boards lying around with a transformer to spare?
Even a new transformer if I can source it. Who stocks them?

Just repaired one..... just wanted a re-solder on the main power supply. These are Tesco tellys made in the backstreets of China I understand, can't recall psu ident though.

I think what happens is a spike comes along takes out the control chip and blows the s/b pulse transformer thin primary winding.... as well as blowing the top of the chip.

Seen this fault umpteen times, the last one was in a microwave oven - 18 months old customer not very pleased as no spares was available.

Another Teknica I did had a CD board fault.... so to save £££££££ I just removed it's supply plug.

Telly only went back today.
