Hi thought i would ask to see if anyone could help , My Hitachi l42vc04uh is stuck on standbye with a solid red light when you press any buttons ie power volume they just beep with no attempt of coming off standby. Has a 17pw26-4 power board and the power board is making a ticking noise and the tuner board the optical out is flashing red in time with the power supply tick . when the av board is disconnected the power supply sounds fine and help would be really appreciated thank you for taking the time to read kevin

Hi,
Are all the power-supply voltages correct when the lead was disconnected?
If so, it could be a main pcb fault, loading the power-supply.
You could also check the usual power-supply faults: D983 SHORT,  either D883/D882 LEAKY.
regards,
John

Iv had 2 sets this week where the inverter board was shutting the set down. Disconnected the board and fed it with a scart from Sky and the sound came up. Replaced boards and sets worked
