DAEWOO DP42SP - REPAIRS ON YSUS
« on: February 21, 2008,04:57:01 »
Hi all,
Has anyone repaired the YSUS board on this plasma screen?  It is a common problem on this screen that this board goes faulty.

Is there any known issues or components to check/replace.  Any advice would be helpful.

Have you seen the price of this board new!!!

Any Help

Had a go at fixing it.  And it worked.

Now onto my 4th ysus repaired.  There is only 1 type of transistor that goes faulty.  and sometimes a cap.  Hardest bit it finding the transistors from suppliers.

good idea, there must be plenty of these tvs with screens broken wich would still have good boards,so people could sell these boards,at least they would cut thier losses a bit.as for my boards a local repair shop near me (i wish i could mention the name as he is good i could say he is the local hitatchi agent in lincoln uk)has managed to get me all three bourds as a kit for £84 vat included so i cant complain, but i will get rid of the tv when its done,he has ordered my boards and i should get them by monday.i would still like to know what trans and cap it is though as if this was the case people are getting ripped of by being told to change the boards

Hi, sorry about the late reply.
I have repaired 3 out of 4 ysus boards now and all seem to have the same ish faults.
I normally start by powering up the plasma for a minute, switch off then feeling both of the large heatsinks on the ysus  board. If one side feels hot it normally means a short on one of the mosfets attached to that heatsinks.  Replace with FQAF40N25 mosfets from www.eurotech.co.uk in croydon(1.50 each).  There are a couple of caps that seem to go faulty as well (one next to rump up pot and other next to P103A).  The rest of the problems i have had have been down to the correct setup of the board using the service guide.   Most people think you can just plug in a new ysus and expect it to work.  Follow the guide to setup correctly.

If anyone has any other advice please post

i changed the three boards in my bush for £85 and it came on perfect (took longer to put all the screws in the back then it did to change the boards)i didnt have to set it up or anything after, this is probably because i changed the three boards,i did find that on my old ysus board that two transistors read short in circuit but when taken out they read ok so i checked the circuit from there but couldnt find where the short was so i could only put it down to the big ic which is supposed to be a common fault and apperently cannot be brought as a spare therefore having to buy the board with it on.however the £85 for the boards was a good price to pay and if these boards last for another 3 years i cant complain        ernie

hey guys, first post so be kind. ive got a dp42sp from a mate today but its not working. when you turn it one first the led is read and when you press the input button the led goes green and the tv clicks once, then the screens flicks on and off really quickly, and then it clicks again. it does nothing else after that until you turn it off.

Is this the x and y panel or would it be worse? where can i buy the boards also? ive looked on ebay and this was all i could find http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Y-Drive-Board-for-Daewoo-DP-42SP-Plasma-PC42V-PYS10_W0QQitemZ200192445867QQihZ010QQcategoryZ11071QQcmdZViewItem

any help would be appreciated,

Hi guys, i have a Plavo model pm-4230 (which after a bit of reading is the same as the DP42SP),now i'm guessing i have a faulty YSUS board, just asking if when you took the back board off you noticed the red flashing LED labeled DC4?
