Hey guys, Im new here and will try to help out in return but seriously doubt my electronic knowledge would help any of you guys xD anyway im posting here because a quick Google search showed me this place is the best when it comes to fixing televisions, and there is already a thread for me to hi-jack!

So i have the 17PW20.1 (version 1?????) board of the same television(AS LCD32761HDF), with the same problem! cant get past standby.

under closer inspection the Q814, C878 or Q840 piece emits a spark whenever i try and power up, I'm not sure if this information helps but common sense tells me that just isn't right.

Anyway, looking to buy a repair kit, hopefully not a full new board, and was hoping you guys (and gals) could point me in the right direction!

Thanks in Advance!
Matt!

Common faults with these are usuallyQ814,Q813,C877 and/orC878(15nF 1000v must be 5%tolerance,Ic289,C817,C801,C901 and C892.As aksed by one of the Posters, you do have to replace C877and its mate C878,and have had that fault a number of times.Last week the only fault on one of these boards was Qty2 x bulged caps C817 and c857.To buy the proper caps C877 etc, had to purchase though Ebay to China, and bought qty 10 off to make the purchase worthwhile...will soon need more.

Hi

Rob

Check the items in Red, remove the diodes from the board to check..especially the one to the left of the main transformer (which is probably the suspect)

The caps I circled in blue check the values and if one is 2700uf x either 16v or 25v change it, if you struggle getting a 2700 pop a 3300 of the same voltage as removed, I have never had any problems doing this...just dont put a 2200 in

The component circled in green just check for cold joints and to be on the save side desolder and get some tin/lead solder on there   :57:

And to confirm what watteau said, version 3 is near on identical, I think the only difference is the flick switch on the side of the tv, hence the black and white 110/240v connectors to the top right of the board

Hope this helps
