Akura TLDVD1510W currently sussed
« on: June 06, 2014,12:35:45 »
Hi folks,

Had an Akura TLDVD1510W (Analogue) No go. Supply connected the wrong way around. Noticed input fuse had not been fitted, just a wire link. Fitted 3A fuse (Set takes 2A Max). Audio chip(TDA1517P) and two 8 pin power fets (ACT4060) had popped, also Inverter fuse (2A) all replaced - OK.

Was rather surprised, as it worked, even the DVD.

Guess something horrible tomorrow, like a Bunyip - Chris.

PS - Bunyip landed the next day, set went off. Thought the 3A input fuse had popped, but it was just the print-through on the input fuse, wasn't quite so print through, so soldered connections top of the panel - Ok.

Great feedback, Turnip, pip, pip. You are indeed a quuq hero.

You'll be pleased to know, we celebrate the Queen's birthday tomorrow. It's a holiday...God save the Queen.

Perhaps the bloke with the wobble board can do another portrait, just for the halibut.

Hi Bruce,

AKA - The 'Thopa Saccata' of the Antipodes.

Don't know if your man will be available for another piccy for a while, even for the 'Halibut' you speak of.

The Pip-pip stuff was made fashionable by an American composer, and best sung by yet another American.

Only mention, as gives the idea as how a real Englishman (like James Bond) would tackle an Akura without the least 'Fluff' and fight through to a happy conclusion, and get the gal.

In my case, there was no gal worth getting, just a bloke, but the thought remains.

'Stiff Upper Lip' - Ella Fitzgerald - is worth hearing for the smile, and available on 'One's Tube' - Chris Le Turnip.

PS - I've probably been a 'Hero of sorts' well before you did your 'Walkabout' - sadly without our nifty Jenny Agutter.

Trouble is - I can't be too serious, as I mend mostly for needy cash, so can never-ever be an actual 'Blue Starred' Quuq Hero.

Whimsy isn't Quuq, but can be fun, as such folks do most of the actual biz, most Quuq Hero's are either into selling stuff, or want to know how to take the back off, or mending, without any bother.

C'est la vie, as one of our famous bushrangers, Ned Kelly, once said, though I fancy a bit too intellectual for an Irish yobbo. More likely to have used the 'wtf' profanity.

Never mind Ella Fitzgerald, a 50th anniversary special on the Beatles, has just started on the ABC, the BBC of the antipodes....now that's more like my era...que sera sera, I'm off.

Hi Bruce,

Wasn't your Ned the intellectual chap who didn't bother protect his legs whilst wearing a dustbin over his more important bits, and the local 'filth' natch shot him, in the legs.

Not so sure about current Aussie attitude, could go for independence, like Mc.Scotties who still have a pint of Maggies oil left.

More a Nick Drake chap, meself, no Octopus Garden or Silver Hammers for him - Chris.

Akura still seems mended.

Hi Turnip,

With your ken of this big brown land, you could do well on "The Eggheads" or "The Chase". Aye, poor old Ned wasn't the sharpest axe in the shed. Definitely wasn't wearing an Aku(b)ra. Perhaps he has a video on You Tube. Imagine what a taser would do to him.

An aficionado of the Drake, eh?......he only had thoughts of Mary Jane....lucky bugger. But then he's as dead as Ned.

Hi Bruce - nice one,

The wife watches such intellectual programmes as you suggest.

Here, in Norfolk, the Suchbind in now in flower, and odd folks are jumping down wells, and others saving Water Voles. Adam Lambsbreath is sorting the greasy washing up with cold water and a Hazel stick.

I'm naturally trying sort another treatise on Bramwell Bronte, as his three sisters always thought him a 'Piss-Head' - He was, of course.

Must try get back to tellies, when the next one comes in - Otherwise, Garden leave - Chris.

Must admit - Have had total Nick Drake in MP3 on the car player for the last two months, and not yet bored.

Stephen Fry did a great Mr. Mybug who was into feathers and rude sex.

Bramwell didn't get too much of a mention after his sisters sat on his head to provide a needy letter to an Irish aunt -

Could go on for ages, but won't - suggest enjoy the book or film - 'Cold Comfort Farm' - Stella Gibbons.

PS - Just got an Electric Fence Generator in for mending - have had several over the years, they are always Aussie sourced and expire here from Norfolk rain that gets into the works as they're not designed totally waterproof.

The Shock/Kill slide switch on the underside is unprotected, and our Norfolk farmers naturally hang them up-side down as they're Aussie sourced.

Not farming me'self, as far too complex.
