I think I have a PSU type MLT198 somewhere. I had this on the bench LAST July. Out of a Goodmans (also Bush and some Grundigs) but with no info available, I think I pulled the PSU (which looked OK) and scrapped the big parts.
Have a look back at my post, I did add a couple of photos.
Les.

MLT169B PSU repair
from a Tevion 32" but it was worth it. PSU Blown up.

Repaired now! Replaced Q11 used FQPF8N80C and re made vaporised print. Replaced r12/13 are 47r had to use wire ended due to burnt print changed 2n2 1k connected to these resistors looked charred but read ok. R68 was ok it is 68k Replaced D14 HER207 Z4 1N4739A All electrolytics (that I could see)

Plugged in and set worked but after I had tuned in I felt the heatsinks! HS2 (not the one with q11 on) was frying and producing steam from a wet finger.

Removed heatsink assy and found 3 more electrolytics lay flat all high ESR and low cap but the fault was D5 PFC diode dead short FSU05B60 replaced from scrap board.

may help

The board is from a 32" tevion and the fault conditions are exactly the same as FIXITNOW describes even  the vaporised print.I'll have a go at the repair later and report back.

Hi Vince,

Nice one, especially with all duff parts mentioned. Few Quuq folks ever bother mention, even some Quuq 'Hero's' tend to forget reply - Chris.
