Hi folks,
Have one of these in with no sound but OSG functions normally. Replaced the TDA1517, and at switch on screen had horizontal bars which eventually disappeared leaving sound on just one channel.
Suspect an odd problem, as had checked usual input/output caps for shorts B4 fitting the chip, and speakers seemed OK at 5'ish Ohms.
Will try attach full manual as it's only 9Mb - Thanks for your thoughts - Chris.
Later - Replaced chip again and all sound panel electros and checked everything else. Came on perfect 'till boxed up where the original fault returned. Checked sound board on Ranch PS to find all OK, so had suspicions about the buck converter on the main board (discovered it just does the +5v as inverter and sound board run on the 16v input from the in-line supply)
Was initially thrown as picture size didn't vary (as it wouldn't with an LCD, but I had forgotten)
In line 'stabilised' PS duff giving out between 16 and 20 volts, as it felt fit - Sorted.
