LG 26LC55 - No picture
« on: June 26, 2014,12:14:48 »
Hi folks,

Have one of these in where at switch on, screen is illuminated darkly and with no sound  off-air or various inputs - Can't be sure AV is selected, but Scart auto-switch normally sorts it. Also tried Scart out - Nothing.

Changed the T-con - no difference, and both T-con fuses remained OK.

Checked supplies to main - all seem OK, and as set toggles on and off, have run out of ideas.

Don't have info on Chi-Mei V260B1-L03 screen problems, although V260B1-L11 were a real pain.

Any thoughts ? - Chris.

Hi,
Capacitors on the main, signal board are getting common for various faults
on this model (usually the 100ufd's), check for ripple on LT lines, or use a cap.
tester.

Cant vouch that the 37LC55 resembles that remark, but on that model C901 and C533 on the main pcb are troublesome.

Thanks, Watteau and Bruce,

Had a look at the PS where some caps seem to have been replaced with odd 80 degree types, and on long legs as they were too fat to fit - will check them out, and those M/B caps C901/C533

Thanks again - Chris.

Later - Checked the Main, and at least 25 SMD (mostly 100/16) caps had high ESR - Never found C533 though.

Heaps of SMD caps from China (22/47/100) on the way - curious to know the ESR of new caps.

Hi Mike, and thanks,

Downloaded some years ago, but had forgotten as I had never before met the problem.

Again -  Thanks a lot, could save on those caps, and all that soldering -

Discovered later that my board is the EAX35231404(0) version with few filter problems, so checked all those 0 Ohm links and found them all OK.

Think to get a board from the Flea just to rule it out - Chris.

Hi Mike,

Good reminder though, I needed it as had forgotten and not bothered to check.

Thanks again - Chris.

Later - Got SM solid aluminium caps in from China, so checked ESR of quite a few to give me an idea as to what might be duff, or not.

47/16 - Generally 1.5 Ohms

22/16 - Mostly 8.5 Ohms

Was surprised at the relatively high impedance - still waiting my 100/16 shipment.

Guess my problem is elsewhere, got loads of caps though - Chris.
