Hi Sam,

I believe that if you disconnect the wiring loom between power supply and main board, and the backlights fire up, then the inverter/power supply board is OK and the main board is suspect.

Are all the power supply output voltages there? And does "power on/off" voltage of around 3V remain there at pin 1 of connector CN802 when the tv shuts down.

Power supply is BN44-00260? Have uploaded schematic to the download section under "power supply service manuals". Might be of assistance.

If you need any PCBs, dash off an email to Steptoe & Chris, Rag and Board Merchants.   -     Bruce.

Hi Bruce,

Don't forget a bag of hay for the 'Orse. Suspect you didn't view BBC2 trade test films when colour first came came to the UK. There was one called 'Home Made Car' - a BP film made to make BP seem nice - one of several.
Film featured a 'Steptoe' with 'Orse, and with the original 'Steptoe and Son' music.

Noticed it features on 'Ones-Tube' but the quality is total crap. Managed eventually to get the original, cleaned up and on a DVD - Yours if you pay post.

Fave of mine was 'Atlantic Parks' where this real nifty gal....... Also on YouTube but sadly total crap with 100% colour but no picture - Have great stills of said gal (National Film Board of Canada) but doubt she looks so nifty now - unlike us - Chris.

Recall - back in '63 there was a promotion picture with a chap with a soldering iron who suggested 'Australia needs you' - some fellow telly basher chums went, but girl friend of the time said she'd miss her mum. Natch didn't go, so missed 'Walkabout' in her flesh.

Think a NFBC stills piccy, as she was real sweet at the time.

You're on a roll, Sam. Time to give the 'orse his nose-bag.

Well said Bruce,

Guess folks have moved on from 1960's stuff when gals were gals - and nifty too, if somewhat heavy in the thighs.

Suspect Sami is one of our newer folks who keeps his eye on the cash-flow - Truly sensible, as Scotland might soon become independent, and need the cash - Chris.

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble......timeless.....William talking about our industry again.

Them gals (as you like to refer to them as) were from a time when child-bearing hips were the go.

As one bard aptly put it, "Fat bottom girls you make the rocking world go round".

Egads, 'twas the Queen. Anyway, the Scots are notorious for keeping an eye on the cash-flow.  Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Don't suspect our (Mutual) Queen said anything or the sort, as she's too well brung up, like what we aren't.

Suspect Shakespeare said little about 'Fat Bottomed Gals' as find little in his Folios or Quartos, though searched them diligently, as one does between jobs.

Guess it's that play again, where one cannot mention it's name without breaking a leg.

Oscar Wilde would be a bit mollified - had he lived - Chris.
