Panasonic SA-PT560 Eject problem

Hi folks,
Have one of these where sometimes it works normally, other times tray won't eject making a loud clicking noise, with the laser assy at the outward end of it's travel. Had a look at the mechanism but couldn't see the problem.
Note ChasHyde stocks lots of DVD bits for this model, so guess problem is common.

Any thoughts ?  Thanks - Chris.

Laser slamming up against rear end of its travel? I've encountered this. Remove the pcb on the spin motor
and replace switches S1 and S2 on the pcb, or give them a good flush with contact cleaner.

Give that a whirl. Is this the deck which uses the laser motor to also open/close the tray?    Bruce

Yes, this one uses the laser tray sled motor do the biz, will check switches.

Seem to recall had this prob a while ago where switches were OK, but nevertheless keen to give it a try.

'Brainstorm' suggested at the time to 'change the whole biz' - prob correct, but cust wanted change from a fiver, as they do in Norfolk - Chris.

Typical Ebebezer Scrooge eh! They seem to have populated the globe.

With this mecha, there is a white pawl that pivots on the spin motor shaft. Essentially, returning laser trips this pawl, which in turn sets the big black eject gear on its way. I've had ones where this pawl has been split around it's pivot point, or has been almost seized, hence it does not have the kinetic energy to trip the black gear. All good fun, of course.      Bruce.

At least Ebeneezer came up 'Turkey' eventually - Tasteless but, guess saved 'Tiny Tim'

Squirting the switches seems to have done the biz, though would have liked to change 'em but couldn't see any about. Noticed when taking the switch board out there was oil on the panel, so suspect It's been squirted B4.
