Philips 37PFL5522D/05 help needed please
RenegadeUK:
Hello i was hoping someone might be able to help.
I have a Philips LCD TV (model no 37PFL5522D/05) and it recently started switching on and off even though the BLUE POWER light stays on (so it is not switching off to StandBy mode, which would show a RED light).
It generally works ok after 10-15 minutes, although it now seems to takes longer and longer to warm up/stay on.
I've inspected all the capacitors on the Power Board (PLCD300P3 24572) and they seem fine, although the main power Capacitors are under a black protective cover and some are also under a large heatsink. (see attached picture).
Could these be the cause of the problem, and how could i inspect these?
The large covered heatsink has 4 diodes stuck to it (connected with thermal paste) which would make it difficult to remove. I can just about see the capacitors under the covers and they don't seem to have bulged or popped.
I would be grateful of any help, as i'd much rather replace any faulty components than order a new power board etc..
Can anyone recommend a possible fix. Thanks in advance for any information.
p.s. I originally posted this message here earlier today: http://www.tv.quuq.org/forum/index.php?topic=929.new#new
Apologies for reposting it again, but i thought the LCD TV FORUM would be better suited to my problem.
Thank you
fix2003:
check C37 on Master and C65 on Slave Both caps I think are 10pf at 6kV
know to give trouble if you can not test best to replace

Thank you so much for the reply,
I'll replace the caps you mentioned and will post back here with the results.
Many thanks again for your help

Hi there fix2003, i hope you don't mind me posting again,
I tried looking for capacitors C37 and C65 and I can't seem to be able to find them on either board.
(I haven't yet removed the protective covers off the main power board yet though, although i did find the service manual/schematics and have been trying to find the capacitors on there).
I've attached a PDF of the schematics for the PLCD300P3 board (below) which also has a very high quality image of the board. I also found a very detailed service manual here:-

Any help would be much appreciated.
Once again i'm trying to fix a problem with a Philips 37PFL5522D/05 LCD TV.
The LCD TV switches on and shows a blue led light (as normal), and after 3-4 seconds the screen switches off (no picture/no sound) although the blue led light is still showing.
I'm pretty sure its not going into standby mode as this normally shows a red led light.
Once the set has been on for 5-10 minutes the problem seems to disappear, although its now taking longer and longer for the set to work correctly.
I'd much rather fix any faulty components than have to buy a replacement board etc.
None of the capacitors on the main power board look faulty, although as mentioned previously, i've not yet removed the covers although the capacitors underneath seem to be in good condition.
Once again i would be very grateful of any help.
I've managed to purchase the 2 replacement capacitors 10pf at 6kV, and would be very grateful of any help.
Thanks again in advance

Hi Ren,
Have a note where Power/Inverter is Delta DPS-168B on this set.
Guess can be some variation with screens used - Chris.
