Hi Bruce and Sparky,
'Natch I meant reeking havoc print-wise, but confess had the spell thingy turned orf. Note that chap of Flea mends them but will check Emos - Thanks again - Chris.
PS - Hope not a copper pad, last one I had was on a Pure One Mini, where managed to get the miniscule audio chip off OK, but no way could re-solder the pad, even with LMP solder and several print-through holes. Other problem in that case was the 8 pins didn't extend from the underside of the chip, so not sure if I'd got at them at all - Fun though.
Much later - Got the chip for 99p and of course it has the heat sink pad, so doubt I can sort it without serious gear, as guess needs 300+C to get it off the panel using Lead Free solder, as can't float LMP under the chip to free it.
Think to check out serious gear, but as only have a few such per year, and the panels are all of different dimensions, guess would take some time to make a profit, unless I stick to T-cons using this notorious chip.
Think bite the bullet this time, get a good T-con from The Flea, and make only a modest profit, even though the thought of £30+ for a T-con mend still seems attractive.
