I have an Samsung le40n87bd that showed progressively worse symptoms before complete failure.
It started out that when the tv was turned on it would turn itself off before loading anything. Then the tv would turn on with audio but no picture. After power cycling it a few times the picture would appear, but often with pink hue added to the image. Continuing to power cycle the TV result in the TV operating correctly.
Another method to 'work around' the fault was to power up the TV, leave it for 5-10 minutes, then power cycle and all would well.
Trouble shooting the TV myself (As it was my wifes parents) I have managed to get the TV to enter a continious power cycle when either of the HDMI ports are connected to any sources.
Un-plugging HDMI sources, and using either the aerial input or VGA input and an image will appear. The Aerial input picture audio was fine, but did have dots (More like blank pixels) in the image, similar to what an analog signal would create.
I've taken a look at the power board, there are no capacitors leaking/bulging or cracked/dry joints.
Is there anything I should be looking at?
