Whats ten bucks in British Pounds ?
Had one of they projection tellies in where the top central magnet had fallen off, and set had trouble doing auto convergence - Impressed that it tried - Bit of glue and all sorted, though couldn't see the picture 'till down on ancient knees.
Three tube projection sets were a bit testing, as took me back to the early 70's with all that convergence biz, and burned out pots.
As to Plasma - Really glad that Sammy did a real cheapy where the panel popped the panels, only serious cash I've ever made, and just for fault reports at £20 a pop - Chris.

1 AUD (aussie dollar) is only worth about 46 Britz pence, so it's a bit p-weak.
To think those RPTVs used to be quite the rage. Recall a Thomson once....couldn't get it into the Hi Ace van without splitting the TV in half. Hours of disassembly and reassembly.
Thank god for the Sammy. Was that the one where the panel would spontaneously crack?

Winning Plasma was UK Bush BPDP42HD2 but actually - Samsung S42AX YB09
'Bush' used to be a name of quality way back when quality mattered - Try 'Zen and the art of Plasma maintenance' where Bush gets no mention at all.
Trouble is - most local folks buy cheap crap from Aldi (suppliers of the famed Bush) and don't care to spend on repairs.
Real folks buy Sony,Toshiba and Panasonic as most all else here is Vestel under another name, or even worse Chinese, who don't care admit they made them, as they move on quickly to the next wonder - Chris.
Thinking on, we used to have German stuff - Grundig that had trouble turning line SCR's off, where Sony were giving us gate controlled whatsits that wouldn't turn off at all, so we fitted BU208s and modified the drive a bit.
Last Grundig I met was a Profilo Telra where P/S caps drooled all the time - Happily not seen a PT set for some years, Admittedly they did good CRT tellies where our Chinese chums were giving us sets where those 2 x 47Mfd caps in the P/S dried and gave us income.
