JVC LT-32DR1BJ - Tuning issue.

Hi folks,

Have one in where a few existing channels in memory work. Tried re-scan a couple of times where set searches end to end but finds nothing.

Guess a SSB BGA issue and can't find a manual to try a reset - Thanks for thoughts - Chris.

Hi Chris,

Depends if it's a genuine JVC or a rebadge.....JVC used to make some top gear. My guess is a rebadge. Try "Source/Input/AV" 2580 in sequence.

Otherwise simultaneously press and hold Input and Mute.                              Bruce

Suspect it's a genuine JVC as later ones in the UK were Turkish Vestel rather than the Oriental ones you probably enjoy.

Can't complain about Vestel as the UK is flooded with them in 'Known Makes' and they're pretty good with schematics and USB updates. Trouble is there are so many variations in everything it's hard to get a replacement anything which works with a particular set - Chris.

the way to enter the service, is below

HOW TO ENTER THE SERVICE MODE
(1) Press [INFORMATION] key and [MUTING] key on the
remote control unit simultaneously to enter the SERVICE
MODE SCREEN.
(2) In the SERVICE MENU, press the [1] key to display
ADJUSTMENT MODE SCREEN.

to exit,press BACK button on the remote

Info and muting worked for service mode. Was hoping for 'Factory Reset' but not there.

Notice set has a USB input but suspect it isn't for updates. Wonder if anyone has a manual for the set as can't find anything similar online ?

in the user 'PR  installation menu' must be the item 'factory settins',maybe on the second page!
if you're asked to set a PIN code,the default is'0000',if it doesn't work input'0081'.I'm waiting for good news.

Can't find any second page. There are lots of main page options which lead nowhere useful - used 0000 as pin code - Accepted OK

Will try 0081 - Never know - Don't suppose you have a manual for any JVC of this era as all mine are rather older twin tuner jobbies where service menus are different  ?  -  Chris.

this is the user manual.on page 32 you'll find what I was talking about.I must admit never had this set on my hands so can't confirm the structure of the menu!

Looks more like a 'user guide' than a service manual but seems updates are possible using the USB socket but gives no details of how to do it. Didn't notice 'factory reset' in options.

Had a good look on-line for a manual and any upgrades, but so far found nothing, guess too old, even though it's a genuine JVC not a Vestel.

that's right this IS the 'user guide'as they say the 'factory reset' is available for the end user.
the upgrading procedure is described in the attachment,but unfortunately I don't have the file!

Seem to remember that 'Bruce' thought genuine JVC the biz.

Wonder if he has anything to hand that might either enable a 'factory reset' or even update software as your last was relatively recent ?  - Chris.

Hi Chris,

Doesn't appear to be any consistent way of entering JVC service mode. Here's another way for older JVCs:

Simultaneously press and hold SLEEP TIMER, DISPLAY and VIDEO STATUS.

A few others: Press and hold MENU and INFO, press and hold DISPLAY and PICTURE MODE, display the menu on the screen, then press INFO and MUTE.

Must have given each designer short shrift after he completed a design, then hired a new one.                      Bruce

Enter service mode:
-simultaneously press "Info" and "Mute" buttons on RC
Return to Factory setting
-pull out mains plug
-simultaneously press and hold "Mutting" and "I"(info) kays on RC
-insert mains plug
-if display appers,select "Factory Mode" and press OK
