LG RZ-42PX11
« on: July 11, 2008,18:43:31 »
Hi, I had this tv today, with the screen going fuzzy (negative, limited looking) after a while. I traced the fault to some electrolytics on the Y sus board, C203, C36, C72 all 33uf. Set working perfect now.

well done with your px11, im about to post on the pcb,s used on the 42\50 pc55\56 range of sets, ive managed to scrounge via lg tech. the circuit diagrams, but its usually the drive ic.s that fail, not available as yet. but im hopeful.

Hi Tony, I have traced faults many times to ic's etc, only to find their not available. I am from the old school where you had to fault find to component level. It goes against the grain to change panels. Cheers Norman

I have noticed these caps give trouble too. Could be a possible cause for lower YDRV damage too?
LG has a bulletin about "Component Level Repair_Y/Z-SUS IPM" see attachment.
But have you ever tried to remove the IPM, it's not easy. Try it if you have 30min to waste. Parts have never been available as far as I know.
Again no schematic for the SUS boards, at least my manuals dont have them.

Hi, I have removed the hybrid ic's in the past if only to prove that it is shorted. It is difficult to remove without damaging the pcb. I hope at some stage these become available.

Here is a link with info on PX11 y/sus module repair. Unfortunately it is in Russian, the online translators give some clue, but not good English translation.
