faulty eeprom?

has anyone got an eeprom dump for a vestel 17mb15e-7,the board is out of a wharfedale 37" lcd..my problem is that the tv would turn on with sound, the backlight lights up but no picture,or menu, just a illuminated grey screen.i reprogrammed the eeprom(twice) from another vestel tried the tv and the picture and menus worked.i turned the tv off ,then on again and the tv went back to displaying the illuminated grey screen .does anyone know what would cause the eeprom to become corrupt.
