SONY BRAVIA KDL-26U2000 NO PICTURE...

Hi,

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-26U2000.

When plugged the red LED comes on -
When you press power on the remote (buttons on tv don't respond) the LED changes to green -
there is a flash of light on the screen and a single click -
the green LED stays on but screen remains blank/ no sound -
but when buttons pressed on remote the green LED flashes in response.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the inverter panel to me. There is also a power supply kit available for this chassis.

I had a very similar effect on a Sony KVL-30HR3 recently.The only difference was that the backlight
didn't come on at all and it was the inverter panel.Because there was no backlight flicker,I initially blamed the power panel.  John.

Hi guys,

Actually there is backlight flicker...  when I power up and get the green LED, I switch it off to standby with the remote and get the red LED. Then when I press power, there is a flash of light on the screen accompanied by a low level buzz for about half a second - but green LED remains on.

Where can I get details of the PSU kit?

check the SMD fuse on the PCB at the top of the set, this connects to the display.

For no back lights check the SMD fuse F003 on the inverted PCB. Not the 10A fuses, this one is much smaller!
