Fuses

Hello Folks,

   Mending LCD and such, where SM fuses are used, does anyone have any idea as to how to rate fuses that have perhaps the odd letter to indicate value.  P/S shematics usually not being available.

   Also, cost and availability - few sites stock them, and where they do, prices can be ludicrous considering likely manufacturing costs. So far have used CPC/Farnell, cheapish - in these days, but the range is rather small.

I think you will find veromade is a spammer, so you wont get much help there!

   Sort'a guessed that, and realise that Chas Hyde is the business, but they are incredibly expensive, whearas Wiltsgrove is more to my financial taste - just a matter of waiting, perhaps, but does anyone know the fuse code ?

Hi guys, I'm time served 30 years now and have survived the past 10 years on a set of Wickman fuses for sm type purposes.
            We all should have safety in mind and probably have had situations where an in-line fuse/fuseable resistor has gone o/c for no apparent reason. In years gone by it might have been a sanyo vcr in line protector (pr512 i think) or a Mitsi.tv power secondary feed fuseable resistor o/c .

PS I  subscibe to euras,but as some of you know they ,also don't have all the answers.

Hi John,

   I'm all for your idea of using Wickman / ICPs  for most everthing, but have met several sets where I just couldn't shoe horn them in or see beyond them to the pads for soldering in without probably shorting out nearby tracks.

                 i, like you, have been in the trade too long, weve both seen changes no doubt, no longer "its the picture valve", or repairing droppers or running a new dial cord.
oh for the easy ones!
we are account holders for most of the uk manufactures, eg lg, tosh, hitachi, vestel, sharp and samsung, im  always happy to post manuals and supply bits, but i admit im slow, a failing, i know, most people bear with me, and im grateful, but guess what, we do the atec and evesham sets by fitting a lg board in its place, oh no, what have i done!!!!!!
