Sharp LC32AD5EBK LCD TV
« on: September 27, 2009,15:13:25 »

Hi again,
Anybody had one of these, no pic. or sound but when connected to mains supply the standby light goes straight to green, irrespective of standby switch! also no remote operation. p/s voltages seem to be there, as far as I can tell, also 24v supply up to inverter is present.
I strongly suspect software problem but have no info.
So, hoping somone might advise
Thanks again
Bri.
p.s. I hate eproms, or is it just me?

Hi,
swich on the mains button while keeping pressed vol- and input keys;sevice mode is confirmed by the k letter on the screen;while the tv set is still on press vol- and ch- keys to get the service menu;hope it works.

Hi
Thanks Michael for the suggestion, but still no joy, set refuses to show any desire to start up, except for the green led!!!
So frustrating!

Hi Bri,

Guess we have all been there, but on the bright side, said set will probably be at the Council tip tomorrow where we can raid it for good panels.

  Checking daily - Chris.

Hi Sparky,

Suggest you go daily to the Council tip, and get known as a 'green guy' ready to keep our recycling chaps content.

Might just pay dividends - Chris.

PS. Realise that there are 'Clip-board chaps' at every site, paid generously with our Council Tax, and employed by our Councils to ensure no local lack of wastage - say no more, well, words escape, but I'm not really political, but wondering - Turnips are now locally ready for harvesting, they're tasty - any offers - Chris.

PPS - Sorry Bri - Its got a bit political, but politics and EEproms are dire, well some others might dice, with some success - It's Turnips for me, white 'Norfolk's' are tasty, now heading for a meal - Chris.

Just had this fault and traced to F404 o/c, sw12v supply, no fault found except current draw 1.2A, so fitted 2a circuit protector and soak tested OK.
