Hi Brian,

Notice that PS is the one with sound chip. Don't have that one but have one quite similar. Had one like yours in the other day, a Medion MD30112 where it wouldn't fire up. Replaced C356 and C352 (both 47/50) and C351 and C349 (both 1000/25) - did the biz. Three days later, still on soak, and after phoning the customer -  the FSD200 blew up (as they do)  But after a few zeners, diodes, opto, and BC337 later, still got the cash - no guarantees though.

   Hope it helps - Chris.

Hi Brian,

Congratulations, haven't seen those listed before as a fault, as it's usually secondary caps. Guess they went O/C, and if so, was it obvious on inspection ?

I'm curious, as I have one that doesn't fire up on the 12 and 5 volt side, and have replaced most everything apart from C361.

  A Profilo-phobe - Chris.
