old lc-30hv4e
« on: August 24, 2010,11:47:39 »
I have an old lc-30hv4e that has blue screened, no menu and only access to the service mode, have had various quotes from experts suggesting power supply to lamps, all seem rather suspect as they all wanted about £40 just to look at it, having trawled throughthe net and found nothing i thought i would ask here

any     useful  ideas?

Hi TT,

Nothing yet on Old, but 26/30 inch sets have been known for blue screen failure, but then service mode is not a possibility. No further thoughts -

Give us piccies - Chris.

all the specs seem correct, checked them all from the service manual, just confused by the blue screen with no menu, possible bios fail?

Hi again,

Blue Screen gives thoughts of Philips, but as you give no details - hard to say, and where's that manual - we love 'em  Chris

Hi Teltime,

Now we know it's Sharp, Quuq folks will leap in with backlight re-setting stuff. Don't have the service manual, so if it's in PDF, would find it useful.

Thanks - Chris.

Hi TT,
if you have access to service mode reset the lamp counter to zero;then restart the set.

Hi, M.First,

It's reported 'Blue Screen' - seems to suggest not a backlight problem - only just realised -well, with a Sharp you can tend think, but - check Scart outputs on another telly  - Chris
