Hi again Dave,

Confess have so much stuff from local recycling depots, wouldn't dare advertise it. However if folks state their requirements on 'things wanted' section, will check stocks and reply, fairly niftily - panels all labelled and piccied - need to be retired, for the time it takes - Chris.

Hi, Dave,

But do you mend thier tellies -

They tend to have more wives and G/F than telly mending chaps ever manage - and with all those tellies to mend for all those offspring, onnspring  and such.

Telly menders never had it so good, but at least a quiet life, these-days - doesn't seem fair   - Chris.

Hi Dave,

It's those rubbish caps you use - was amazed to find that PT originals lasted a couple of years, and my Wiltsgrove specials more like a month. Tried various combinations then noticed Wilts does a super low ESR 2200/16 - been a fortnight used lots and not a failure yet.

As to recycling, guess there's lots'a cash in flat screen stuff - chaps used to be able to 'tot' the stuff then health and safety fell over one, now they end up on Ebay. Trouble is, at local sites they use a machine with rotating spikes to compress the electronics in the skip before recycling - makes a mess of the screens though.

Hi Dave,

If it's one like the piccy, will almost bite yer arm off - well it was my first LCD repair - cust had been on the interweb and changed all the caps for 85deg stuff - some drooled down the board and phutted the primary side.

Changed everything imaginable - Have pages of my sorrows - got 5v S/by and 24v to go but could never revive the 12v side. Set remains in the loft like a beached albatross (Profilos have little style) - haven't the heart yet to recycle with a hammer - Chris.
