if you  have a go make sure you check the main
smothing cap is discharged

Oh and make sure you get the polarity right, they go bang if you don't.

ok went ahead ordered some capacitors fitted them and it boots up from standby first time (can anybody sense a but coming here), but i now have no sound  :sign0085:

hi had a similar problem with a 32" lg i had no sound then no pic .changed the psu and problem cleared id say you have another faulty component on your psu .rgds dave

do you think i need to do the main board mods that i keep seeing posts about.
